Home Remedies for Removing Body Odor

In women, menstruation and stress often dramatically increases the degree of body odor. Various home remedies which help in removing body odor are as follow:


Vinegar is very effective for removing body odor as it is a good antiseptic and also helps in killing bacteria and remove dead cells which live on the skin. Vinegar can lower the pH level of your skin so that you feel fresh for the whole day without worrying about your body odor. Apply apple cider vinegar on areas which are more prone to odor and then wipe the area dry. You can use vinegar on underarm to avoid stinking smell.


Rose water is the best among all home remedies. It is a very good natural deodorant. You can add some drops of rosewater in bathing water which gives a long lasting effect on your body odor.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice is consider as antioxidant and helps to avoid pungent smell of body. Lemon is as good as but vinegar but can be easily used by even those who have sensitive skin that can’t bear vinegar.

Neem leaves

Neem leaves are natural way to get rid of bad body odor. Take some neem leaves and boil them. Add the boiled water in your bath water and take bath. It detoxifies your body and helps in controlling stinking odor of skin.

Avoid tight clothes

Select loose-fitting styles, lightweight and breathable fabrics. The longer perspiration stays on your skin, the more foul smelling it will become. The last thing you want is to wear a garment that will trap moisture in.

Baking soda

Baking soda can be applied to the underarms. It absorbs the bad perspiration in the underarms and removes pungent smell. Also, you can add a little cornstarch for better absorbing of sweat in your underarms.
